The Department of English was established in the year 2013.Our motto is “Literature Illuminates Life”. The word literature comes from the Latin word ‘the use of letters’ or writing . It is literature which illuminates life and it is life itself. The Department aims to cultivate strong communication , analytical , and critical thinking skills among students, fostering a deep appreciation for literature. It also offers a platform to empower the students with mastery of language that supports effective expression, professional success and lifelong learning.

Alumni Engagement Activities
English Department
TThe Alumni Association of the English Department, established in the academic year 2024–25, serves as a bridge between the past and the present, uniting graduates who have walked the halls of the department and contributed to its rich academic and cultural heritage. The initiative to form the association was taken to foster a lasting bond between the department and its former students, providing a platform for continued engagement, collaboration, and mutual growth.
The association began as a humble initiative, with enthusiastic support from both faculty members and alumni. Through meetings, online interactions, and shared memories, the former students came together to form a vibrant community that supports academic pursuits, career guidance, and cultural initiatives.
As the association grows, it envisions building a strong network of English graduates who can share experiences, offer professional insights, and celebrate the spirit of literature and learning. With its foundation firmly laid in 2024–25, the English Department Alumni Association maintains a vibrant and active WhatsApp group consisting 250 members.
