The SIPC wing of the college successfully organised a meaningful programme titled NOVA on 16th February at the college ground, with the noble aim of distributing 100 wheelchairs to those in need. Through continuous effort and systematic planning, the dedicated volunteers raised the required funds to support this humanitarian initiative, reflecting their strong commitment to social responsibility. The programme was inaugurated by the Honourable Minister for Public Works and Tourism, P. A. Mohammed Riyas, who appreciated the students for their sincere efforts in serving the community and spreading the spirit of compassion among the public. The Chief Guest of the day was P. M. A. Gafoor, a well-known author and speaker. Social media content creator Fida Sherin also graced the occasion. The programme was held in the esteemed presence of Prof. A. Kuttialikuty, Principal; Prof. Muhammed Basheer, Treasurer of the Managing Committee; Mr. M. A. Hameed Ali, Managing Committee Member; and Mr. Sudhin, Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism. The function was presided over by College Union Chairman Ihthisham and SIPC Volunteer Manhar.

College Library organized an exclusive quiz for first-year students, focusing on January 2026's top current affairs stories on 5th Feb . Thirty students took part in the competitive event.Anan Mohammed of I BCom CA secured the first place, with Binsal from I BCom CA taking second—both winning cash prizes. The awards were presented by Principal Prof. A. Kuttialikutty and Vice Principal Dr. K. Sudheer.

On January 19, 2026,the third issue of the newsletter Peekay Bytes was released. Prof M.Mohammer Basheer, Managing Committee member, formally released the issue in the presence of Principal Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, chief guest Mr. Sreekanth Kottakkal (Mathrubhumi Weekend Editor), and other dignitaries during the English Association Inauguration.

The Department of English, Peekay CICS Arts and Science College, Mathara, organised the English Association Inauguration LUMINARIA 2.0 on 19 January 2026 at CHOLA. The programme included a welcome address by Mr. Shajal, a presidential address by Prof. A. Kuttyalikutty, and the inaugural address by Mr. Sreekanth Kottakkal. The College newsletter Peekay Bytes was released by Prof. M. Mohammed Bashher. A panel discussion on Gen Z Language featured insights from Mr. Fabil T., Mr. Nasru, and Ms. Sabeena Salam. Cultural programmes, prize distribution, The Literary Gait ramp walk, games, and musical performances added energy to the event.

Kalai 2025 - Fine Arts Day was held on 22nd Dec that displayed a spectacular show of talent by the students .The participants of the four teams - Thantra, Dharma, Vajra, and Karma competed in various events like Oppana, Mapilla Paattu,Thiruvathira,Vattapaatu, Nadan Paattu, Western Music, Bharatanatyam, Kol Kali, Skit, and Patriotic Song to name a few. Team Dharma, led by Ms. Archana and Ms. Biya, claimed the winners' trophy, while Team Thantra led by Ms. Haritha and Mr. Basith emerged as runners-up. Ananya from 3rd BSc Psychology clinched the Kalathilakam title while Agraj from 2nd BSc CS grabbed the title of Kalaprathibha.Mehfil Ahmed of 3rd BCom CA was felicitated for selecting the name 'Kalai' for the Art Fest. Joint Secretary Zackaria Hydaker and Managing Committee member Azeez Haji presented the trophies, in the presence of the Principal Prof.A.Kuttialikutty and Vice-Principal Dr.Sudheer.

Spectra 2025 Sports Day was held on 4th Dec with great enthusiasm and team spirit. The entire campus came alive with the participants of the four houses—Thanthra, Karma,Vajra and Dharma, Karma, gathered to compete in various events. The former Principal Prof.Basheer inaugurated the sports Day . This was followed by a wide range of events, including athletics and relay races, showcasing excellent sportsmanship and dedication. The atmosphere was filled with cheers as participants gave their best performances. The winners were adorned with medals and certificates.At the end of the day,team Thanthra emerged in the first place with maximum points.

The Union Inauguration 2025 was held on 2 December 2025 at the college auditorium with great enthusiasm and participation. The ceremony began with a silent prayer and the college anthem, followed by a warm welcome address by Mr. Muhammed Irfan K. P., Union Secretary. The oath-taking ceremony and the presidential address by Union Chairman Mr. Ihthisham T. P. set the tone for the day. The highlight of the event was the presence of the chief guest, Mr. Kamal Varadoor, a stalwart of sports journalism with 28 years of experience. Having covered global events such as the Olympics, FIFA World Cups, and Cricket World Cups, and interviewed icons like Pelé, Messi, and Sachin Tendulkar, his inspiring inauguration speech added immense value to the occasion. An award ceremony was held to honour all the sports achievers of the college. The much-awaited name reveal followed, announcing Kalai for Fine Arts Day, Dhala for the College Union, and Spectra for Sports Day. The event was hosted by the students Khadeeja Mansoor and Rifa. The day was filled with vibrant cultural performances, including and live music from bands Vocal Dude, Musli, and Blasters, bringing the event to a lively close.

The Department of English, organised a technical field visit to the Milma Factory on 26 November 2025 ,marking National Milk Day and the birthday anniversary of Varghese Kurien who is known as 'The Father of the White Revolution'. The visit introduced the students to a non-literary environment to help them to strengthen their content writing and technical writing skills through the real-world exposure.

The College Library, in association with the Department of English, organized an inspiring session titled “Ignite Your Future: A Strategic Orientation for Aspiring Students” on 30th October 2025 at 10 a.m. in the Conference Hall. The resource person, Mr. Abdul Latheef K, Librarian, Department of Zoology, University of Calicut, guided students on effective strategies for academic and personal growth. His engaging session emphasized goal-setting, time management, and resource utilization. The interactive discussion motivated students to plan their educational journey with purpose and confidence, making the programme both enlightening and thought-provoking.

The IQAC of Peekay CICS Arts and Science College, Mathara, organized a Faculty Development Programme on “The Future of Learning: Integrating AI and Digital Platforms” on 28th October 2025. The event began with a silent prayer, followed by a welcome address by Dr. P.P. Abdul Razzak, Head of the Department of Commerce. Prof. A. Kuttyalikutty, Principal, delivered the presidential address, and Dr. A.P.M. Mohammed Rafeeq introduced the guest speaker. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Shylaja C.V., Principal, CICS College of Teacher Education, with felicitations by Dr. K. Sudheer. Dr. M.E. Premanand, Associate Professor, St. Joseph’s College Devagiri, led dynamic sessions highlighting the power of AI in transforming teaching and learning. The first session in the Conference Hall offered hands-on experience with tools like Canva and Padlet, while the second, held in the Computer Science Lab, explored practical applications. Participants found the sessions insightful, interactive, and inspiring.

The NSS Unit of Peekay CICS Arts and Science College, Mathara, in association with Samoohika Sannadhasena, organised a One-Day Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign on Saturday to spread awareness among students and the public about the ill effects of substance abuse. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Jimmy Joseph, Assistant Commissioner of Excise, who in his inaugural speech warned about the increasing cases of drug abuse among youth and urged collective efforts to eradicate the menace. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. APM Rafeeq, NAAC Coordinator, who underlined the role of educational institutions in building drug-free campuses. The event was felicitated by Mr. Jithesh, Vimukthi District Coordinator, while Mr. Muhammed Murshid, NSS Programme Officer, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Ms. Devika, NSS Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. The first technical session was led by Mr. Jalaludheen, Excise Preventive Officer, who explained the legal aspects and shared real-life case studies. The second session, handled by Mr. Akram, Intern at Samoohika Sannadhasena, focused on peer influence and preventive strategies. As part of the campaign, students took part in a signature wall activity and an Anti-Drug Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free life. The campaign concluded with an awareness drive in and around the college campus, where NSS volunteers actively interacted with the public to spread the anti-drug message. The programme received enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and the local community, making it a powerful initiative in the fight against drug abuse.

Mathara, Sept 25: The district-level inauguration of the NSS Mass Cleaning Drive was held at Peekay CICS Arts and Science College, Mathara, on Thursday. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. E T Rakesh KAS (District Coordinator, Shujithwa Mission). In his inaugural address, he highlighted the significance of cleanliness campaigns and the need for active youth participation in building a sustainable future. Prof. A Kuttialikutty (Principal) delivered the presidential address, stressing the importance of the NSS motto “Not Me, But You”. The event began with a welcome speech by Mr. Faseel Ahammed (District Coordinator, NSS Kozhikode), followed by a project briefing by Mr. Sarith (Assistant Coordinator, Shujithwa Mission). The Postgraduate Departments of Psychology and Commerce organized the Graduation Ceremony for M.Sc. Psychology and M.Com. Finance students on 23rd September 2025 at the College Conference Hall. The programme commenced with a silent prayer and the college anthem, setting a solemn tone. Dr. A. P. M. Mohammed Rafeeq, Associate Professor and Head of the PG Department of Psychology, delivered the Welcome Address, followed by the Presidential Address by Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, Principal of the College. Mr. P. K. Ahamed, President of the College Managing Committee, formally inaugurated the function. The highlight of the day was the Graduation Day Address and the awarding of certificates by Dr. Denoj Sebastian, Registrar of the University of Calicut, who motivated the graduating students to uphold academic values and contribute meaningfully to society. The occasion was marked by felicitations from Mr. M. Ayub (Secretary), Prof. M. Muhammed Basheer (Treasurer), Mr. Zackariah Hydaker (Joint Secretary), and Dr. K. Sudheer (Vice Principal). The NSS unit of Peekay CICS Arts and Science College, Mathara organized a special function to unveil its official NSS uniform in a dignified ceremony. The programme was inaugurated with the uniform reveal by Dr. Denoj Sebastian, Registrar, University of Calicut. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. A. The college Kabaddi team emerged as the champions of this year's Calicut University Intercollegiate Kabaddi Championship (Men). The tournament was held at Government College, Olavakkode. In the final match, Peekay CICS Arts and Science College defeated the host, Government College, with a score of 34–31. Kozhikode Government College secured second place. In the semifinals, Peekay CICS Arts and Science College defeated Farook College, while Government College, Kozhikode, overcame EMEA College, Kondotty.

IEDC Peekay successfully organized the SPARK 1.0 Orientation Program for first-year interested students on September 15, 2025 at the Conference Hall. The session was inaugurated by our Principal Kuttyalikkutti sir, followed by a felicitation by IQAC Coordinator Razack Sir. Our IEDC team engaged the students with interactive activities, including a mini startup challenge, and an interactive session led by IEDC CEO Muhammed Shehood, which inspired students to kickstart their campus innovation journey.

Following the inauguration, NSS volunteers actively engaged in campus cleaning, waste management, and sapling plantation activities. The initiative aimed to spread awareness on eco-friendly practices and to encourage students to take ownership of their surroundings. The campaign not only beautified the college campus but also reinforced the message of environmental responsibility among the student community. The dedicated efforts of the NSS volunteers under the guidance of the Programme Officer made the event a remarkable success.

The NSS Unit of our college organized a Kalamela named YUVAJAGARAN in collaboration with the Kerala State AIDS Control Society (KSACS) with the aim of spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS among the student community. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. A.P.M. Rafeeq, Head of the Department of Psychology. The event was facilitated by teachers Muhammed Murshid T and Shajal, whose presence and guidance contributed greatly to its smooth conduct and success. A major attraction of the programme was the performance by the renowned art team “Manoranjan Arts”, who presented songs, skits, and mimicry with powerful social messages. Their well-crafted presentations effectively highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention, and compassion towards people living with HIV/AIDS. The skit performed by Manoranjan Arts depicted realistic situations, breaking the myths and stigma surrounding the disease, while the mimicry and musical items engaged the audience in a lighter but equally meaningful manner. The entire programme succeeded in delivering critical information in a creative and memorable way. The event was received with great enthusiasm and appreciation by students and faculty. It stood out as a fine example of how art and culture can be used as effective tools for social awareness and change.

The Department of English, organized a visit to Snehatheeram Old Age Home, Farook College, on 16th September 2025 as part of the Value Added Course syllabus. The students of II BSc. Computer Science actively participated and had a meaningful experience. The visit aimed to instill in students a sense of social responsibility and empathy by interacting with the elderly residents. The students engaged in conversations, listened to life experiences, and offered small cultural performances that brought smiles to the inmates’ faces. The interaction created a warm and joyous atmosphere, bridging generational gaps. This initiative not only enriched the academic component of the course but also provided a valuable life lesson on compassion and care.

The harvest festival of Onam was celebrated in the college with great joy and enthusiasm. A vibrant celebration marked the day with the Principal,Management,staff and students came together as they revelled in the traditional dress ,music ,dance,games and the festive feast served on banana leaves.Added to the enthusiastic celebration,the college featured on social media and main tv channels for the viral video captured by Anfan of 3rd BCA for capturing the feelings of a migrant worker amidst the celebration.The worker Mr.Siraj was later invited as a guest for a 'Sadhya' at the sister institution CICS College of Education in the esteemed presence of the Prof.A.Kuttialikutty(Principal)Dr.Shailaja(Principal) ,Manager, Mr.Basheer, Managing Committee members,Mr.Zackaria ,Mr.Ajeeze and Assistant Professor,Mr.Sudhin.

The college magazine 'Swaram' brought out by 'METANOIA' the Students' Union was released by the acclaimed writer, sociologist and humanitarian Mr.P.Hafiz Mohammed on 21st Aug in the presence of the Principal,Editorial board and students .He commended all those who worked behind the publishing of the college magazine and also appreciated the articles penned by the students.

The event was marked by the enthusiastic participation of students, faculty, and volunteers, creating an atmosphere of national pride and unity. The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Muhammed Rafeeq, Head of the Department of Psychology,followed by the rendering of the National Anthem. The Chief guest of the day was Lnk. Akhil, a brave soldier and a member of the Operation Sindur team . In recognition of his dedicated service to the nation, the NSS Unit of Peekay CICS College felicitated and honored him. His inspiring words and experiences deeply motivated the students, instilling in them a sense of patriotism and responsibility towards the country. The Independence Day message was delivered by NSS Programme Officer, Mr. Muhammed Murshid T, who highlighted the importance of freedom, discipline, and the role of youth in nation-building through education, social service, and community engagement. The FYUGP (Four Year Undergraduate Programme) Orientation for the newly admitted first-year students was held with great enthusiasm and academic spirit. The programme was organized to familiarize the students with the structure, objectives, and opportunities of the new undergraduate curriculum, and to motivate them at the very outset of their higher education journey. The orientation session was graced by Dr. Mohammed Saleem, Principal of Farooq Training College and Syndicate Member, University of Calicut, who served as the chief resource person. In his detailed session, Dr. Saleem highlighted the vision and framework of the FYUGP, emphasizing its holistic approach towards academic excellence, skill development, and value-based learning. He encouraged the students to make use of the flexibility and wide learning opportunities offered by the programme and urged them to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and social responsibility throughout their college life. The programme began with a presidential address by Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, Principal of Peekay CICS College. The Readers' Forum organised an Inter-Department Quiz Competition titled "Swatantra" on 13th August 2025 as part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations. The event was conducted by Readers' Forum members — Jassir, Shaza, and Rahid of 3rd BA English. The enthusiastic participation of over fifty students contributed to the event’s grand success.

The Library Orientation for first-year UG students was conducted in two engaging sessions, aiming to familiarise them with the facilities, resources, and functioning of the college library. The first session featured an informative PowerPoint presentation highlighting the library’s services, rules, and procedures. Students were introduced to the various sections, borrowing system, digital resources, and research support facilities, ensuring they understood how to make the most of the library’s offerings. The second session comprised a guided tour of the college library, led by the Librarian, Mr. Jayakrishnan. A detailed explanation of each section, including reference materials, journals, digital access points, and reading spaces. The programme not only acquainted students with the physical layout and rules of the library but also inspired them to explore it as a hub of knowledge and learning.

The Orientation Programme for the parents of first-year UG and PG students , was held on August 12, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in the college auditorium. The event aimed to build a strong connection between the institution and the parents while sharing insights on guiding students towards success. The programme began with a prayer and the College Anthem. Prof. A. Kuttilalikutty, Principal, delivered the welcome speech. Mr. M. Ayub, Secretary of the Managing Committee, gave the presidential address and presented a memento to the President of Olavanna Grama Panchayath. The event was inaugurated by Adv. P. Sharuthy, President of Olavanna Grama Panchayath. This was followed by the release of the book Sales Management by Dr. P. P. Abdrazzak, received by Prof. M. Mohammed Basheer, Treasurer of the Managing Committee. Felicitation speeches were delivered by Prof. M. Mohammed Basheer, Mr. V. Ayoob (PTA Representative), and Dr. K. Sudheer (Vice Principal). Mr. A. Shajal, Secretary of the PTA, proposed the vote of thanks. The Chief Guest, Mr. V. K. Suresh Babu, Standing Committee Chairman, delivered an engaging session on Parenting for Life Success, leaving parents inspired and motivated.

The PG Department of Commerce organized a seminar on E-Filing of Income Tax Returns on 6th August 2025 at the college conference hall. The session was graced by our esteemed resource person, Mr. Ramakrishnan, a Chartered Accountant by profession. The program was inaugurated by our respected Vice Principal.

A seminar titled "Managing Risks Through Actuarial and Data Sciences: An Ocean of Opportunities" was successfully conducted on August 4, 2025, by the Department of Statistics. The program commenced with a welcome speech by Ms. Seena A. S., Head of the Department of Statistics. This was followed by the presidential address delivered by the Principal, who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary studies in contemporary education. Dr. K. Sudheer, Vice Principal, introduced the esteemed guest speaker, Dr. Muhammed Fareed, Chairman, Malabar Institute of Actuarial Science, and former Principal, WMO College, Muttil. Dr. Fareed captivated the audience with his expertise, elaborating on how actuarial science and data science converge to create vast opportunities for managing complex risks. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Bindu Bhargavi , Assistant Professor.

The second-year Commerce students had the rare and enriching opportunity to interact with Dr. N.P. Hafiz Muhammed, the acclaimed author of The Big Fish on 23 rd July 2025. In the session, Dr. Hafiz Muhammed shared his journey into the world of writing, his inspirations and real-life experiences that shaped each of his stories. The session was highly interactive, with students posing thoughtful questions and receiving valuable perspectives on literature, creativity, and storytelling. It was a memorable event that not only brought the author closer to his readers but also inspired many budding writers in the audience.

The Department of Computer Science organized a seminar titled "Future in AI, Robotics & Embedded Systems" on 18th July 2025 at 10:00 AM .The session was led by Mr. Nikhil P, Technical Head at Nexus Technologies, who delivered an insightful talk on the emerging technologies and future career prospects in the domains of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Embedded Systems. The seminar also highlighted academic project opportunities in these cutting-edge areas, providing students with practical insights into real-world applications. Final year BCA and BSc Computer Science students actively participated in the session.

We're delighted to announce that Jaza Fathima, a talented student of Mathematics and active member of our Entrepreneurship Development Club, represented our institution at the prestigious Student Ambassadors Meetup held at Don Bosco College, Mampatta, Kozhikode on July 15, 2025.The event was organized by K-DISC (Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council) under the Knowledge Mission, Govt. of Kerala. The workshop aimed to empower student leaders and ambassadors by equipping them with essential digital and leadership skills.

The provision of high-speed Wi-Fi access to all students during designated hours has transformed the campus into a digitally-enabled, student-friendly environment.

The Department of Computer Science organized a seminar titled "Equipping Yourself for Success in the AI Yuga" on 16th July 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, featuring Mr. Manikandan, CEO of Softroniics, as the resource person. The session provided students with valuable insights into the rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence and the essential skills required to succeed in the AI era. Mr. Jishad Bangalath, Head of the Department, delivered the welcome address, setting the stage for an engaging and inspiring session. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Thrisha, a final-year BSc Computer Science student.

To commemorate the renowned writer Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer, The Campuses of Kozhikode organized a digital poster making competition on July 3, 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and impressive poster designs. Winners were awarded prizes soon after the competition.

On the occasion of World Youth Skill Day (July 15), the Entrepreneurship Development Club of Peekay College organized a practical session on “Youth Empowerment through AI and Digital Skills” at the college computer lab.

The Readers’ Forum, in collaboration with the Staff Committee, organized a quiz competition for teachers on 3rd July, sparking intellectual enthusiasm among them. The written quiz featured questions primarily focused on Vaikom Muhammad Basheer and his literary contributions. Alongside this, a cartoon drawing competition was held for students, inviting them to illustrate characters from the celebrated works of Basheer.

As part of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the National Service Scheme (NSS)unit organized an impactful anti-drug awareness program titled "JAGRATHA" on Thursday, 26th June 2025, at the college conference hall. The event commenced with a solemn prayer, followed by a welcome speech by Mr. Muhammed Murshid T, Programme Officer, NSS. Prof. A. Kuttilikutty, Principal of the college, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the urgent need to educate students about the dangers of substance abuse. The highlight of the event was the formal inauguration by Mr. Sarath Babu C, Assistant Excise Commissioner, Excise Intelligence & Investigation Bureau, North Zone, Kozhikode. In his keynote address, he spoke about the increasing threat of narcotic use among youth and the role of enforcement agencies and educational institutions in countering it. The program also featured felicitations by Dr. Athira Sreeraj, representative of the Indian Dental Association (Malabar Branch Women’s Wing), and Miss Rashida P, Head of the Department of Management Studies. Both speakers urged students to act as ambassadors of change and uphold a drug-free lifestyle. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Muhammed Fasal.

Faroook Institute of Management Studies (FIMS), in collaboration with AI Academy, organized a one-day workshop on "LEARNING AI WITH PURPOSE How AI Prepares You for Tomorrow" on 25th June 2025 at Parisons Hall, Farook College, Calicut.The workshop was attended by a few staff and students from the department of Commerce and Computer Science.

The Department of English organized an engaging theatre session on 17 June 2025. The Department of English conducted a team-building session titled "Bond and Beyond – Stronger Connections, Greater Success" on 11th June 2025. Mr. T. Mohammed Murshid, Assistant Professor of Commerce and Management, led the session with interactive activities promoting trust and collaboration.

The Readers' Forum celebrated National Reading Day on June 19th, paying tribute to P.N. Panicker, the pioneer of Kerala's literary movement. The event featured a book review competition, followed by a talk from emerging writer Ms.Nandita Biju, who shared her writing journey. Principal A. Kuttialikutty and Ms. Siru Razzak highlighted the significance of Reading Day. The programme concluded with attendees selecting a book from a mystery box, fostering a love for reading.

The NSS Unit conducted a disaster management training camp with the Directorate of Social Voluntary Force. Sessions were led by experts from fire and rescue, hospitals, and voluntary forces. Participants gained skills and knowledge on disaster management. Faculty members, including Program Officer Mr.T. Muhammad Murshid, guided the programme. The camp aimed to equip volunteers to respond effectively in emergency situations, promoting community resilience and safety. The programme was inaugurated by Mr.A.K.Zakariya,the Joint Secretary of the College Managing committee.

The NSS unit of Peekay CICS Arts and Science College celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2025, with a sapling plantation drive within the campus. Peekay Steels provided medicinal plant saplings for the initiative. Major. Ramakrishnan General Manager of Peekay Steels, addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of environmental conservation.The saplings were planted in the presence of the Managing Committee members, the Principal ,staff and NSS volunteers.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized a Faculty Development Program in association with Embase Pro Suite on 29th May 2025 at the Conference Hall. The program began with the Presidential Address delivered by our respected Principal, Prof.A. Kuttialikutty, who emphasized the importance of technological integration in academic processes. The resource person for the session was Mr. Ashique Rahman.The training focused on the effective use of the Embase platform for academic management, including recording of attendance, seminar and internal examination marks, assignment tracking, and communication of notices to students and parents.

The Department of English in association with the Metanoia Students Union, successfully inaugurated Luminaria 2025 on 5th March 2025 in the Conference Hall. The event, themed Words, Words, Words: Writing in the Visual Era, was attended by second and final-year BA English students. The programme commenced with a silent prayer, followed by a warm welcome address by Mr. A. Shajal, HoD, Department of English. Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, the backbone of our institution, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the significance of literature in contemporary times. Following the session, prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to students who excelled in the semester exams. The Department of Computer Science successfully organized TECHNORA 5.0, an intercollegiate IT fest, on 24th February 2025. The inaugural address was delivered by Beena Cherian, former Chairperson of the Board of Examiners for CS/BCA at Calicut University and former Associate Professor at MAMO College, Manassery. The fest featured a variety of engaging technical and fun events, including a Debugging Challenge, Typing Challenge, Blind Coding, Web Page Design using AI, Paper Presentation, and a Virtual Reality (VR) Experience. Participants also tested their problem-solving skills in a Horror Room Escape and a treasure hunt.The event was a grand success, fostering collaboration and enthusiasm among students from various colleges.

The National Service Scheme organized a Free Eye Screening Camp on 18th February 2025 in association with Trinity Eye Hospital. The camp aimed to provide free eye health check-ups to students and raise awareness about the importance of regular eye screenings. The camp was inaugurated by the principal , Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, who expressed his appreciation for the initiative. The event saw a participation of 205 students, who underwent various eye tests conducted by medical professionals from Trinity Eye Hospital

Ms. Nashwa and Ms. Aysha Fahemidha presented a paper on Attachment Dynamic and Resilience among students at the International Conference hosted by Providence Women's College on 23 January 2025. Ms. Fathima Hidhaya T and Ms. Raniya Poyilil presented a paper on" Academic Procrastination and academic Stress "among young adults at the International Conference hosted by K E College, Kottayam on 29 January 2025. Principal Prof. A. Kuttialikutty commended the presenters for their outstanding work.

The career guidance session for the Final Year and Second Year BA English students was held on 3rd Feb. in the Conference Hall. The event was organized to help students explore potential career paths after completing their degrees. The resource person, Mr. Anvar Muttanchery, a Career Guidance Counsellor, Columnist, and Assistant Engineer at Akashvani Kozhikode, provided valuable insights into career opportunities for literature students, highlighting sectors like media, journalism, teaching, and government services. He also stressed the importance of competitive exams and staying focused on one’s goals.

The Department of English and Readers' Forum collaborated to organize an enriching visit to the Izza Literature Festival (ILF) held at Baithul Izza Arts and Science College. A grouo of approximately 40 students and 2 faculty members attended the enlightening session, which featured insightful discussions by renowned experts. The day-long event, comprising an engaging session and an accompanying exhibition, proved to be a highly rewarding experience, offering valuable opportunities for literary exploration and knowledge enhancement.

The Readers' Forum hosted a captivating talk by the writer and recipient of the prestigious O.V. Vijayan Award, Ms. Siru Razak, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies on 31st Jan. The session proved to be a riveting experience, offering a unique glimpse into the life of a writer, replete with challenges and triumphs. The event commenced with a warm welcome speech and introduction by Hidhaya and Fahima, who presented all the pertinent details about the distinguished guest. Their thoughtful words set the tone for a fascinating discussion. Ms. Siru Razak's talk was a treasure trove of insights, as she shared her personal experiences, struggles, and successes as a writer. As a token of appreciation , Mr. A. Shajal, Head of the Department of English, presented Ms. Siru Razak with a memento. The FOPCA Alumni meet, 'Kayra'-2025, was a resplendent success held on January 25th. The event was inaugurated by the Honourable Member of Parliament, Mr. P. Raghavan, in the presence of the Chairman Jb. P.K. Ahamed, Principal Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, distinguished members of the Managing Committee and other dignitaries. Kuttialikutty,and Prof.Basheer.This was accompanied by presenting mementoes to alumni who have excelled in various fields and the members of the PR team. Mr. K.E. Moidu, Manager of the College Managing Committee, announced the Best Student Award, which went to Kavya.S of 3rd B.Com (Fin). The evening unfolded with a vibrant cultural programme presented by students and staff, followed by a mesmerizing performance by the band 'MARZI', which left the audience enthralled.

The Fine Arts Day celebration, PARDEESA 2025, was held on 22 Jan. It featured an array of off-stage and on-stage programs that showcased the students' incredible talents. The event was inaugurated by renowned singer and actor Shafi Kollam, who delighted the audience with a few melodious performances. The campus placement training programme was held from 7th Jan to 11th Jan .The resource person was Ms.Vidhya Conoeicoe from Employability Skills Training . The training focused on enhancing aptitude, technical expertise, communication skills, and overall employability to prepare students for corporate opportunities. A total of 56 students from Computer Science and Mathematics Departments actively participated in the training sessions. The Campus Placement Training Program was successfully completed, achieving its objectives of preparing students for their professional journeys.

A challenging battle of the brains of the top young minds from in and around Kozhikode was held on 8th Jan 2025 which was jointly organised by NSS and Quiz Club. The quiz was conducted by the quiz master Prof.Midhun Shah, HOD, Department of Physics, Farook College, Kozhikode. The enthusiastic students exhibited a tough fight in answering the interesting questions put forth. The winners were awarded M.K.Aboobecker Haji memorial cash prizes. The PG Department of Commerce had signed a functional Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Yugen School of Accounting and Taxation, Calicut, Kerala, for a 36-hours certification course in Practical Accounting designed exclusively for commerce students. The course is highly relevant in the current taxation regime in our country. Beyond theoretical knowledge, this will equip students with practical skills and industry exposure.

The PG Departments of Commerce and Computer Science jointly conducted an outreach program in the form of an industrial visit to Peekay Steel Casting (P) Ltd, Calicut, on 8th January 2025 at 2:00 PM. Nineteen faculty members had the privilege to interact with the esteemed Managing Director, K.E Moidu Sir, and his dedicated team. Following an insightful interaction, the staff toured the various casting units, laboratories, and server rooms.

The class magazine by the final BA batch of 2022-25 on 'Shakespeare ' was released, and a seminar titled 'The Persistence of Memory: Shakespeare in the Curriculum' was held on 11th Dec. Ms. Bindu Amat, Retired Professor of Providence Women's College, did the honours and gave an informative speech on the topic. The seminar began with the address by the Vice Principal, Dr.Sudheer, highlighting the importance of Shakespeare in education. The event began with a silent prayer, followed by a warm welcome speech by Ms. Saira Banu, Editor of ‘PEEKAY BYTES.’ She highlighted the newsletter’s role in showcasing the college community’s creative and intellectual pursuits. Prof. A. The Department of Computer Science and the Department of Management Studies ,organized a programme on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on 22nd November 2024. The event aimed to celebrate the rich diversity and cultural heritage of India’s tribal communities. As part of the celebrations, activities such as story writing and drawing were conducted to encourage students to engage creatively with the theme. The initiative was supported by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, and provided a platform for students to honour the contributions of tribal leaders and communities to the nation. This event highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting tribal culture and history among the younger generation

Graduation Ceremony- Four-Year Undergraduate Programme: A Revolutionary Change in Higher Education:Dr. Godwin Samraj The implementation of a four-year undergraduate programme in Kerala is set to bring revolutionary changes in the field of higher education, said Dr. Godwin Samraj, Controller of Examinations, Calicut University. He emphasized that the new educational system would help improve students’ skills while at the same time transforming the traditional education model. Dr. Samraj was speaking at the graduation ceremony organized for M.Com and M.Sc psychology students . The event was inaugurated by College Manager K.E. Moidu, with Principal A. A seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was conducted on 5th November 2024 by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) under Attribute 9. The session was led by Adv. Tanya Kadeeja, a representative from Veritae Legal Associates and Solicitors. The seminar provided an in-depth presentation on the significance and nuances of Intellectual Property Rights, covering various forms of intellectual property such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.

The English Department hosted 'Sugar and Spice: Culinary Fest' on 16th October 2024, to mark World Food Day.The competition featured two dishes: Fruit Salad and Green Salad with Dressing. Students from all three years competed enthusiastically, making it a close and exciting contest.

The event, led by Dr. Mohammed Rafeeque A.P.M from the P.G Department of Psychology, provided a valuable opportunity for students to explore self-understanding and career alignment.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) organized a successful blood donation camp on 28th Oct in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club and BDK. The event aimed to promote voluntary blood donation and raise awareness about its vital role in saving lives. The camp attracted a remarkable turnout, with over 120 participants. Meithra Hospital, Calicut, partnered with the organizers, provided trained medical personnel and necessary equipment for the collection in their ongoing efforts to provide essential care to patients.

A faculty Development Programme was jointly organised by IQAC and Readers’Forum to enhance the communicative skills of the staff on 29th Oct.The resource person for the day was Mr.Abdul Latheef Naha,Senior correspondent,The Hindu.The workshop turned out to be a success as the audience appreciated the lively presentation by the resource person.

An author’s reception was held in honour of Dr. A.P.M. Mohammed Rafeeque for co-authoring the book Basics in Cellular Physiology for the first semester B.Sc. Honours program. The chief guest, Dr. M. Madhavikutty, former Principal of Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College, felicitated and commended Dr. Rafeeque on this accomplishment.

The PG Department of Psychology organized a two-day National Workshop on Crime Scene Investigation in collaboration with the PSYFOREX team. Hundred and twenty students from twenty different colleges participated. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Mebin Wilson Thoms, Assistant Professor of Forensic Science at Jain University, Bangalore. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Biju KK, DYSP, Vigilance, and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Kozhikode.

Onam, the vibrant festival of prosperity and joy, was celebrated on campus with unparalleled enthusiasm. The student community, the Principal, representatives of the Managing Committee, and staff, came together to revel in the festivities. Everyone was radiant in traditional Onam attire. The celebrations featured various games, and flower carpet competitions. The highlight of the event was the mesmerizing traditional and modern dance performances by teachers and students, perfectly synchronized to the rhythmic beats of the drums. This was followed by a sumptuous Onam Sadya, a traditional Kerala feast, which was savoured by all. The event was a resounding success, fostering a sense of unity and joy among all.

The Calicut University district-level NSS leadership camp took place at Peekay CICS College on the 7th and 8th of September 2024, bringing together around 160 volunteers from colleges across Kozhikode District. Hon. Vice Chancellor Dr. P. Raveendran inaugurated the event, which was presided over by the Principal Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, Calicut University NSS Coordinator Dr. N.A. Shihab delivered the keynote address. Mr Zakariya, Joint Secretary of the Managing Committee, along with Mr. Faseel Ahmed, District Coordinator, and Mr. T. Muhammad Murshid, NSS Programme Officer, extended their congratulations. The Hon. The refurbished library was inaugurated by Hon. Dr. Beena Philip, Mayor of Kozhikode, on September 5th, 2024, in the esteemed presence of Jb. P.K. Ahmed, President of the College Management Committee, along with the Principal, Managing Committee members, Mr. Ajeesh Prabhakaran, Sub Editor of Mathrubhumi, staff, and students. The inauguration was followed by an official programme, during which the guest of honour delivered an inspiring speech on the importance and significance of reading. The four - year undergraduate programme was inaugurated on 1st July with an opening session ,followed by a live telecast of the state - level inauguration by the Honourable Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the Presidential address by the Higher Education Minister R.Bindu. The Principal Prof.A.Kuttialikutty gave the Presidential address and the event was inaugurated by Advocate Ms.Sharuthi,President Olavanna Grama Panchayat.Dr.Sudheer ,the Coordinator of FYUGP ,presented an in-depth overview of the new programme.The Secretary of the Managing Committee Mr.M.Ayub,the Joint Secretary Mr.A.K.Zackariya and the Vice President of college PTA Mr.Vijayan gave the felicitaion address. Mr.M.Noushad ,a renowned trainer and writer, was the resource person who offered invaluable insights into creative pedagogy.The orientation programme was attended by the Principal ,staff, and the office staff. It featured sessions on understanding creative pedagogy, innovative teaching techniques, designing engaging learning experiences, and fostering collaboration. Participants engaged in interesting activities related to emotional aesthetics, enhancing their understanding of how emotions influenced learning. They gained a deeper understanding of creative pedagogy, acquired new teaching methodologies, and fostered a collaborative environment. The programme reaffirmed the college's commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development.

The Principal, Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, released “INICIO”,a collection of poems written by the members of the Readers’ Forum. The e-magazine, served as a platform for expressing thoughts on various topics and showcasing the members' potential in penning poems. The magazine was designed and compiled by Fahima Huda, IIBA.

Distinguished members of the Managing Committee, along with eminent speakers and participants from various colleges, attended the seminar. The technical sessions were presented by Dr.T.P.Sreenivasan, Dr.M.K.Baby, Dr. Gunalan, and Dr.N.Duraimutharasan from acclaimed institutions. Spread across five venues, the papers were presented in Commerce, Management, Arts, and Computer Science on topics related to NEP 2020and were chaired and co-chaired by professionals from renowned institutions.

A two-day national seminar focusing on the New Education Policy 2020, titled "Transformative Reforms in the Indian Education System," is scheduled for February 21st and 22nd. The poster unveiling event took place in the company of Managing Committee Members, the Principal, Vice Principal, Heads of sister concern institutions, and the core committee members. The Quiz Club hosted a grand inter-departmental quiz on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day on January 25, 2024. The Principal inaugurated the competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from twenty-nine teams. The event, consisting of three rounds, was organized by Mr. P. Santhosh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, while Ms. Archana, Assistant Professor in the Department of English, was the quizmaster. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners by the Principal.

The first-year BA English students had a tour of the C.H. Mohammed Koya Library at the University of Calicut. During the visit, the Assistant Librarian,Mr. Habeeb Koya Thangal conducted a detailed presentation using a PowerPoint, shedding light on the library's operations and providing valuable insights. The students had the opportunity to explore various sections of the library, with a particular focus on the reference section, where they perused an extensive collection of books.

A two-day workshop was held by the Department of Psychology on 8th and 9th December at the college auditorium.A total number of fifty students from various colleges in and around Kerala took part in the workshop.The resource persons were from different walks of life. To talk on “Identification of Abnormal Behaviour”was Dr. LinjoC.J., Ms. Anagha Pullangotte spoke on “Mind in Motion” and Dr. Sherin. V. George spoke on “Anomalistic Psychology”.

The Department of English held a literature festival to celebrate the designation of Kozhikode as the ‘City of Literature’ by UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network. The Principal inaugurated the programme and the Vice Principal addressed the gathering. The day's highlights were the colorful charts displaying the rich literary world of Kozhikode, a book exhibition, quiz, stalls exhibiting the flavoursof Kozhikode, and also a skit on respecting humanity.

The Graduation Ceremony of the M.Com and M.Sc.Psy. batches was held on 30 th November in all solemnity. The Chief Guest for the day was Honourable Prof.Dr. M.K. Jayaraj, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calicut. The Principal, Prof. A. Kuttialikutty, presided over the programme, and the Chairman, P.K.Ahamed, addressed the gathering. The graduates were conferred with the degree certificates in the august presence of the Managing Committee, parents, teachers, and friends.

The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected members of the College Union was held on November 16th at Chola. The Principal administered the oath in the presence of both staff and students. The elected union members are as follows. Additionally, the Association Secretaries for various departments are: Lamisha (Psychology ), Nafla(Commerce), Shamil ( Maths), Shameem (Computer Science), and Thamjeeda (English).The representatives for different academic years are Roshan( first year), Mubariz (second year), Anjana(third year), and Sujaj(PG).

The PG Department of Commerce and Management Studies conducted a two-day workshop titled "Road to Higher Education" for first-year UG Commerce and Management students. Mr. P.K. Ahamed, the President of the Managing Committee of the college, graced the occasion and delivered the inaugural address. The workshop aimed to enlighten students on Corporate Expectations and Career Avenues, Campus Issues and Legalities, and the Path to Higher Education. Distinguished speakers from various fields, including the renowned Corporate Trainer Mr. Ikan, Sub Inspector of Police Mr. Dhananjaya Das, and Assistant Professor Dr. K.M. Shareef, shared their insights during the event. The workshop provided valuable perspectives on navigating corporate expectations, exploring career opportunities, addressing campus challenges and legal aspects, and charting the path toward higher education

It was a moment of pride when the students from the Department of Psychology claimed the top honour in the short film competition and MIME event during the Inter-Collegiate competition hosted at Nilgiri College in Tamil Nadu. Additionally, the postgraduate students were granted a distinctive chance to present their UG projects at the International Conference organized by the same college.

On the 27th of September, the Readers Forum created a tranquil haven for book enthusiasts, a departure from the usual classroom setting. This serene space allowed participants to immerse themselves in the pages of their favourite books. The books were generally contributed by the students and teachers during a book drive. Underneath a picturesque bower, with the gentle melodies of slow music serenading their reading experience, the avid readers among the students found solace in the world of words.

A quiz club was formed under the Readers’ Forum with the guidance and leadership of Mr. Santhosh. A quiz competition was held in the fifth period on 8 th Aug in the Seminar Room, New Block. Eighteen students participated in the written quiz. The first three qualifying students were awarded prizes. A team comprising five students was formed to carry on with the quiz club activities in the future. The winners were: First- Yedhunandan, 1BCA Second place was shared by – Yazin , 1BCA, and Ansaf 1BCom CA. The prizes were given away by Dr. P.P. Razzack, HOD, Dept. of Commerce. Mr. Santhos briefed the students on the working of the club and it was decided to conduct a quiz on 14 th Aug, celebrating Independence Day.

On August 22nd, 2023, Dr. K.K. Kunhammad, the esteemed Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Language and Literature at Kannur University, delivered a captivating talk. This event was organized by the Department of English. Dr.Kunhammad's talk delved into a unique concept, breaking down the acronym SPACE into five distinct areas: Situational Awareness, Presence, Authenticity, Clarity, and Empathy. These elements play a crucial role in effective communication and interpersonal relationships. Dr.Kunhammad's ability to connect these abstract concepts with real-life examples made the subject matter interesting and inspiring for the students.

The cultural festival of Onam was celebrated in a splendorous manner on 23rd and 24th August. The days were marked with games and competitions. It was celebrated with enthusiasm and joy by one and all. Shinkari Melam brought in the true music of the Onam festival. The floral carpet competition and Nadanpattu attracted many participants. The students and staff came decked up in the traditional attire. The highlight of the celebration was the mega Thiruvathira by the students followed by a magnificent performance by the teachers. A sumptuous Onam Sadhya added flavour to the celebrations. The day-long celebration included games like tug of war, musical chair and Uriyadi. On the whole, Onam was celebrated in all its pomp and gaiety.

The NSS unit orchestrated a well-organized Independence Day celebration, graced by students and staff. The esteemed Lt.Cdr. Aswanth .P.(Retd. Indian Navy) served as the Chief Guest, presiding over the flag-hoisting ceremony. Following this, Mr. P. Basheer Ahamed, a faculty member from the Psychology Department, and the Chief Guest addressed the audience. NSS Programme Officer, Mr. Mohammed Adhnan, conveyed Independence Day wishes, and the NSS volunteers enthralled the audience with a vibrant dance performance. The prize winners of the Independence Day quiz were felicitated by Mr. Nithin, the IQAC Coordinator. The event culminated on a sweet note, as everyone received celebratory treats. Alongside the main event, several other engaging activities unfolded: Quiz Extravaganza: The Quiz Club conducted a captivating quiz centered around the theme 'India,' an apt tribute to Independence Day. Thirty-five students participated, and the winners were Hannan A.K. from 3rd BSc. Psychology andUnnimaya from2nd BCA. Essay Enclave: To commemorate the day, the Women's Cell arranged an Essay Competition, spotlighting the theme 'Independent India and the Freedom of Women.' Participants were encouraged to craft insightful essays on this pertinent topic

The students of the Department of Psychology put up a play at Chola, to raise awareness of the need to seek professional help in case of mental trauma. The play focused on breaking the stigma attached to mental illness and drawing the importance of consulting psychologists in case of a mental crisis.

The NSS unit observed celebrations of World Environment Day with a promise to save the environment and the world. The programme coordinator organized a gathering of all the students and after a formal inauguration by the Principal, saplings were handed over to the representatives of the various committees

A space under the bower of trees in the center of the campus, out in the open is a place to unwind your thoughts, bring out your creativity and share your talents. Various outdoor programmes are scheduled to be held in Chola in the coming days. It is the right spot for all the students at Peekay to showcase their talents and artistry. The greatest achievement in the annals of Pee Kay CICS Arts and Science College is that a number of our students have been placed in some of the prestigious companies this academic year,2022-23. Currently, 13 students have been selected to join various multinational companies with a remarkable pay package which has been made possible by the active functioning of the placement cell. The following are the students who have got placement: Hisham Abdul Rasheed and Muhammed Nihal M.V of BCA placed in DELOITTE. Akhil Govind A, Hisham Abdul Rasheed, and Vimal K Manoj are placed in Wipro. HudaifaAhammed was placed in Acabes International. Fathima Zahra VP, Fathima Minha. K.V, Shahana Thasnim. E.N., Amal Raj.M, Hida Rayan C, and Fathima Hasla P.T have also been placed in ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd.

The Annual Sports Day was held on 9 th Feb 2023. The day was filled with exciting games and activities, and the students showed their athletic abilities and sportsmanship throughout the day. The first event of the day was the marathon race, followed by other track events which were held in the track and field area. The students were divided into groups, and each group competed against one another in a relay race which was the final event. The atmosphere was electric, with students cheering each other on and encouraging their group members. The day was topped off with the award ceremony, where students were recognized for their achievements in each event. The first, second, and third-place winners received medals and shields. Overall, Sports Day was a huge success, enabling the students to have a great time, building camaraderie, and demonstrating their athletic abilities.

Reader’s Forum organised a programme on 16 th Feb 2023 in which the renowned writer and activist M. K.P. Ramanunni and another well-known writer E.P.Kunchammu initiated a discussion on the latest book by K.P.Ramanunni, ‘Haindavam’.The Principal, Prof.Kuttialikutty, Prof.Aboobacker, Asst. Professors, Smt. Saritha and Ms.Siru Razack along with the students engaged in an active and thought-provoking discussion on varied topics mentioned in the book

A vibrant and enthusiastic Fine Arts Day – Ekta programme was held from 30th Jan 2023 to 3rd Jan 2023 in which all the students participated actively. The off-stage and on-stage programmes were held at different venues. The final day programme was held at the auditorium where the students showcased their talents in all forms of arts. Students excelled in each of the events that they participated in. Certificates and shields were presented to the winners and participants.

The members of the Readers’Forum accompanied by the staff visited the Abussabah Library, Farook College, Calicut. Spent the morning exploring the library which has a good collection of valuable books, periodicals, CDs, and other audio-visual aids.
